The Hotel Ambasador in Opatija receives the TripAdvisor "Top 25 Luxury Hotels in Croatia" award

TripAdvisor, the largest worldwide travel website, has announced that Opatija's Hotel Ambasador is the winner of the annual "Top 25 Luxury Hotels in Croatia" 2013 award. The award is based on the reviews and opinions of travellers who choose the best hotels in the world.

The "Travellers' Choice Awards" have been awarded for the eleventh year in a row to the best hotels in the world. Unlike other awards, the winners of the TripAdvisor "Travellers' Choice Awards" are selected on the basis of millions of reviews and opinions from travellers around the globe.

"TripAdvisor is once again thrilled to recognise the world's most outstanding hotels with the help of more than 75 million reviews and opinions from travellers around the globe", said Christine Petersen, president of TripAdvisor for Business. "From the best bargain hotels to top luxury properties, outstanding service, value and quality are the hallmarks of our Travellers' Choice winners".

This is the second TripAdvisor award to the Hotel Ambasador in a row – in 2012, the Hotel Ambasador was awarded the 2012 Certificate of Excellence.

Jelena Papeša, Director of the Hotel Ambasador, said that the TripAdvisor award has great importance. "This is the second TripAdvisor award in the space of a year, which is truly a great recognition for our team. We are happy that guests have recognised our efforts in raising the hotel's overall quality".

The Hotel Ambasador is one of the leading hotels in Opatija and part of the Liburnia Riviera Hotels group, the largest hotel chain in Kvarner. Since 2012, the hotel has a new management led by Ms Jelena Papeša. Investment in the Hotel Ambasador and Villa Ambasador started last year, and included the refurbishment of the hotel's 10th floor as the Executive Floor, the renovation of the poolside terrace and the Hortenzija garden restaurant, the arrangement of the private garden with outdoor whirlpools at the Villa Ambasador, and significant improvements to the selection of food and wines and the overall service of the hotel. Investment will continue in 2013, and will include the refurbishment of other hotel rooms and further improvements to the overall quality of products and services.
