Chocolate Festival Opatija

As in previous years, the first weekend of December in Opatija is traditionally reserved for an event that will delight both young and old chocolate lovers. Of course, we’re talking about the Chocolate Festival! From 6 to 8 December, the town’s decorated streets and other venues will celebrate this irresistible ingredient that makes our lives sweeter.

Chocolate Magic exhibition in the Gervais centre

At the Chocolate Magic exhibition in the Gervais centre, restaurants and hotels will present their imaginative chocolate creations, and visitors will also be able to learn more about this favourite foodstuff and its history. Chocolate Magic is a major event that brings together the best Croatian and international chocolate brands, giving the manufacturers the opportunity to present their fantastic chocolate delicacies. Be sure to bring your kids along, because in our Choco Corner we’ve prepared various games and workshops, a chocolate photo point and some great music performances for them. One of the most interesting workshops is definitely ‘The Nutcracker and the Army of Sweets’, where children can learn how to make gingerbread cookies.

Chocco offer

Opatija’s cafés and restaurants will be offering delicious desserts made according to the finest recipes. If you want to sample a healthier type of chocolate, in the Hotel Ambasador from 13:00 to 17:00 you’ll find the finest selection of dark chocolates with different cocoa percentages at special prices in combination with the world’s best rum brands. The offer will also include various pastries, cakes and beverages made of chocolate. In the evening, take a stroll to Šporer, a popular meeting point where you can enjoy excellent music and culinary offer accompanied by light shows and installations. Earlier in the day, there’ll be entertainment programmes and choco-workshops for children.

Choco Ice Magic

What makes winter in Opatija especially attractive is the Choco Ice Magic programme at the Open Air Theatre. Ice skating at an outdoor ice-skating rink just a few steps from the sea with popular Christmas songs in the background is one of the favourite winter activities for visitors of all ages which will provide wonderful memories! If you don’t feel like ice skating, then visit the rustically decorated wooden advent kiosks placed around the ice-skating rink where you can enjoy holiday snacks and drinks or buy presents for your loved ones.
